Gemini Notebook Interactive Reports: Leaked Studio Feature

Gemini Notebook, NotebookLM, Google AI, Leaks, RAG

TestingCatalog spotted Interactive Reports in Gemini Notebook — embed Studio artifacts in research reports via prompts. Not public yet; how it fits Expert Intelligence and Apps.

Gemini Notebook Interactive Reports: Leaked Studio Feature

Google renamed NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook in July 2026, shipped Expert Intelligence for licensed books, and kept expanding Studio outputs — audio, slides, data tables, and leaked App tiles. On August 30, 2026, TestingCatalog spotted the next piece: Interactive Reports — "An interactive report with embedded Studio content."

Nothing is public yet. The leak still matters: Google is pushing notebooks from chat answers to composite research workspaces — the same direction as Google Antigravity interactive artifacts.

What TestingCatalog saw

According to the Aug 30 report:

  • Studio panel notice: "New: you can now create interactive reports" with a button into the existing Create Report customization flow.
  • New preset Interactive marked New — embed Studio outputs inside the report.
  • Overview preset also references interactive summaries incorporating Studio content.
  • Example prompt shape: structured market research (e.g., functional beverage landscape) — closer to workspace than static PDF.

Earlier leaks (July 29 – Aug 3) exposed an App tile generating dashboards, study aids, or lightweight games from notebook sources — inactive, but sharing the same Studio panel.

What builders should watch

  1. Licensing: Expert Intelligence gates book content by purchase; Interactive Reports must clarify embed rights for generated Apps and third-party sources.
  2. Sandbox boundaries: Notebooks already run code in per-notebook sandboxes — embedded apps inherit that trust model (compare secure MCP patterns).
  3. GEO/SEO: Prompt-published reports may become indexable collateral — structure headings and citations for AI overviews (GEO guide).
  4. Competitive bar: OpenAI pushes ChatGPT Work deliverables; Google answers with notebook-native publishing.

Honest limits of a leak post

  • Strings in client builds ≠ shipping dates — Google may rename, merge into Apps, or cancel.
  • No API docs — automation hooks unknown.
  • Enterprise Workspace rollout order typically lags consumer Gemini tiers.

Primary leak: TestingCatalog — Interactive Reports (Aug 30, 2026)

Feature availability reflects TestingCatalog's August 30, 2026 findings; Google has not announced Interactive Reports publicly.
