Agentic

Agentic describes an AI system that plans, takes actions, and adapts across multiple steps toward a goal, rather than just returning a single response to a single prompt.

Ask Melo about this← all terms

An agentic system typically observes its current state, decides on a next action such as calling a tool or editing a file, checks the result, and repeats until the goal is met or it hits a stopping condition. The word is used as a general qualifier — "agentic coding," "agentic workflow," "agentic AI" — for anything built around that observe-act-check loop rather than a single request/response turn.
